Life Coaching
What is the difference?
Counseling
-
Online or in the office.
-
Clarifying areas you wish to improve.
-
Education, skill-building, challenging, and replacing old thoughts and beliefs.
-
Mostly talking.
-
If it helps you, we will use methods like meditation, somatic experiencing, and mindfulness techniques.
Counseling
In our first session, I will gather information about you, your life, personality, and goals. By the end of the session, I will give you my observations, suggestions, and recommendation for the frequency of sessions.
Counseling
In our next sessions, we will follow up on previous sessions and continue to work on current issues.
The goal of counseling is "graduation." I want you to be entirely self-sufficient. This takes a few weeks to a few years, depending on the issues you are tackling and the rate at which you want to work.
Life coaching
-
In-home or another place where the issue is present.
-
Identifying thoughts, emotions, and behaviors impeding your progress.
-
Identifying your strengths.
-
Real-time practice and reinforcement of new ways of living, e.g.:
-
Exercising,
-
Visioning,
-
Increasing production and efficiency,
-
Improving relationships.
-
Short-term. Solution-focused. Action over talking.
Life coaching
Our first session takes place in the office. I will gather information about your life, personality, and goals. Next, I will give you a plan for accomplishing your goals. Based on the information I gather, the plan will be tailored to your unique situation. It will include details such as where, when, and how many times we meet, and what we will do together during each meeting.
Life coaching
Be ready to work! We are going to do everything necessary to achieve your goals. Whether you need to move your body or relax. Purge or shop. Write or get quiet. Date or learn solitude. These are all demanding tasks that require focused energy. If you give me that focused energy, I will get you there. I am now your greatest champion.
